KGAP Initiative 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization founded in September 2015. Through its workshops and projects, KGAP provides educational and social development opportunities for girls to achieve their aspirations. Our goal is to inspire young girls in Africa to positively control their future.
Each quarter, the organization hosts workshops designed to help girls’ complete schooling, plan for a profession, and organize their future; impart girls with vital leadership skills needed to lead in their schools and communities; encourage girls to have excellent self-esteem; and enlighten them on how to live a healthy lifestyle.
Mentors use participatory techniques to engage girls in topics and model interactive facilitation to participants, who are expected to share their knowledge as peer educators in the future. The program also involves parents in discussing barriers to girls’ success and brainstorming ways to support their daughters.
Through this approach, K-GAP since September 2015 have fostered the development of academic, financial, health and social assets which have helped over a 125 adolescent girls build healthier, more secure futures for themselves and their families.
